Garry Weir - Otter Survey

Yesterday’s spring like day gave us the perfect opportunity to undertake an otter survey at the Garry Weir on behalf of SSE Generation. The proposed works include removing gravels from the river and tributaries to further aid the restoration of flow to the River Garry.

Current works undertaken by SSE have restored the flow on the main River Garry and has created over 13km of new main river which will be accessible to salmon.

An otter survey was undertaken to establish the presence  / likely absence of otter from the proposed working area and to identify any features such as holts or resting sites that would need further protection during the works.
