Chicks Crossing

Time and again at sites we come across cases of young chicks who haven’t undertaken any traffic safety lessons. They have little in the way of road-sense, and are unable to fly away from traffic, putting them at great danger of becoming victim to a road fatality.

On one of our sites in the Highlands we've identified the areas where gosling and lapwing chicks have been utilising the road, and installed hazard signage to alert drivers to the potential risk in these areas.

Hopefully by increasing awareness on site this way we will be able to prevent any road fatalities, and we’ll be worrying about the offspring of these chicks.
